What Is Myopia?
Myopia or “nearsightedness” begins in childhood and continues into the teenage years. It is both extremely prevalent and on the rise worldwide. Myopia results when the eye begins to lose its spherical shape and becomes elongated as a child grows. This causes light from distant objects to land in the front, rather than at the center of the cornea, causing blurred and distorted vision. Orthokeratology, however, DOES address myopia and keeps it from progressing.
